Alapakkam Sampath, Ph.D.
Scientific Advisory Board

Dr. Sampath is Assistant Professor, Department of Physiology & Biophysics, Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute, Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Sampath trained at UCLA, Stanford University, and the University of Washington. Dr. Sampath is an expert in retinal physiology and circuitry, and the link between physiology and threshold response of sensory and neural retina and resultant behavior response. Dr Sampath received a 2009 McKnight Scholar Award from the McKnight Endowment Fund for Neuroscience. His research focuses on how light-evoked signals generated in retinal photoreceptors are processed by the neural circuitry of the retina to provide the remarkable properties of the visual system.
